PURPOSE: A safety apparatus of a motorcycle is provided to prevent breakage of a side stand bar or road, and to prevent a driver from being injured by restricting starting in spreading the side stand bar. CONSTITUTION: A safety device of a motorcycle is composed of a side stand bar(100) installed in an engine hanger plate(11) to turn unidirectionally and to support a vehicle body(10) in parking; a side stand spring(200) combined with the side of the engine hanger plate and the main side stand bar to return the side stand bar; and a safety unit(300) formed in the engine hanger plate to prevent starting of the engine in spreading the side stand bar. The engine is stopped selectively by the side stand switch in operating the side stand bar. Breakage of the side stand bar or damage of the road is prevented, and reliability is improved by preventing the driver from being injured.
