PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multi-beam scanning optical device which can actualize a print output of high quality by correcting the total magnification difference and suppressing the quantity of positions shifts of dots in the horizontal scanning direction, and an image forming device which uses the optical device. SOLUTION: The multi-beam scanning optical device has light sources, a deflecting means which deflects pieces of laser luminous flux emitted by the light sources, and a scanning optical means which images the deflected pieces of laser luminous flux on the surface of a photosensitive body. The scanning optical means is so set that a magnification chromatic aberration is overcorrected, and the oscillation wavelength of the light source emitting the laser luminous flux having the minimum angle to the normal of the photosensitive body surface in the vertical scanning direction among the pieces of laser luminous flux incident on the photosensitive body surface is shorter than the oscillation wavelength of the light source emitting a laser luminous flux having the maximum angle. |
