PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the weight of a permanent magnet smaller compared to conventional cases by devising the shape of a base of each pole piece and the height of a peripheral protrusion and to enhance the serviceability of a magnetic field generating apparatus for MRI by using a low-height peripheral protruding part as a subject conveying part. SOLUTION: In the magnetic field generating apparatus for MRI, a pair of permanent magnets magnetized in their thickness direction are positioned to oppose each other, and pole pieces having peripheral protrusions are provided on the opposite surfaces of the permanent magnets to generate a magnetic field in a gap between the pole pieces. The base of each pole piece is noncircular in shape. |
