PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device in which communication traffic is reduced by receiving map information corresponding to a display range from a server side, a server for the same, and a portable information terminal. SOLUTION: The navigation device 10 has a data transmitting/receiving device 12, a scroll button 13, a map image drawing device 14, and a display 15. The map image drawing device 14 makes a request for the transmission of a prescribed range of map information specified on the basis of control input of the scroll button 13 to the server 20 via the data transmitting/receiving device 12. On the reception of the map information created according to the proscribed range from the sever 20, the proscribed range of the map is displayed on the display 15 on the basis of the map information. |
