BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE WITH THE SAME

PURPOSE: A backlight assembly and a liquid crystal display device with the same are provided to improve the light efficiency without increasing the thickness of a light guide panel but by slantly forming an incident surface of the light guide panel by an obtuse angle with respect to a top surface of the light guide panel. CONSTITUTION: A backlight assembly includes a light guide element(224) having incident surfaces(224a,224b) and a projecting surface in an obtuse angle for guiding light provided via the incident surface to a display unit for display images via the projecting surface, and a light emitting unit mounted to the incident surface of the light guide element for generating light to be provided to the light guide element via the incident surfaces, wherein the light emitting unit includes one or more lamps(221a,221b) for generating light, and lamp covers(222a,222b) for covering the lamps to protect and opened at a side for projecting the light from the lamps to the light guide element, the opened side of the lamp covers being slant by an inclination angle equal to the incident surface.
