POLYMER ELECTROLYTE, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE POLYMER ELECTROLYTE, AND LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY

PURPOSE: Provided are a polymer electrolyte excellent in ionic conductivity and not causing the inside short, a process for producing the polymer electrolyte, and a lithium secondary battery containing the polymer electrolyte. CONSTITUTION: The polymer electrolyte(4) is produced by adding an organic electrolyte to a nonwoven fabric containing a gellable fiber(5), gelled easily by the organic electrolyte, and a non-gellable fiber(6) and heating at 40-120deg.C for 10-600 minutes to gel the gellable fiber(5) by swelling the gellable fiber(5) with the organic electrolyte, wherein the volume fraction of the non-gellable fiber(6) is more than 25vol% in the gelled fiber(5) and the non-gellable fiber(6). The gellable fiber(5) comprises polyacrylonitrile-vinyl acetate copolymers or polyacrylonitrile-methacrylate copolymers having an endothermic peak at a temperature of lower than 160deg.C in a differential scanning calorimetry. And the lithium secondary battery contains the polymer electrolyte.
