fire-fighting facilities. SUBSTANCE: method involves interrupting ground forest fire front by laying barrier strips, which are formed by throwing of ground onto guarding strip path. Method is performed by means of unit equipped with earth digging and throwing working tool and dispersed liquid supplying device. While unit advances along fire front, with earth digging and throwing working tool being moved to transport position, unit wets ground surface on barrier strip with dispersed liquid, which rapidly penetrates into porous litter to wet it through the entire depth. During back stroke, unit moves in parallel with wetted path, with said working tool and dispersed liquid supplying device being in operating position. Working tool removes upper ground layer and throws it onto wetted path. During throwing procedure, flying particles are wetted with dispersed liquid. Resultant strip is capable of resisting open fire as well as burning-through processes. EFFECT: increased efficiency in controlling fires on forest territories with peat litter on ground covering.
