PURPOSE: An electric steering system is provided to make the best use of space in the vehicle and to reduce the weight of the vehicle by eliminating a steering shaft, and to change the direction of wheels by turning a servo motor with little force. CONSTITUTION: An electric steering system of a vehicle is composed of an operating unit having a steering wheel(10), an electric signal generator(1) outputting an electric signal by measuring the rotational angle of the steering wheel, and a servo motor(3) electrically connected to the electric signal generator; a gear unit changing the direction of the operating unit; and a link unit changing the direction of wheels by transmitting operational force from the gear unit to wheels. The servo motor transmits rotational force to the gear unit corresponding to electric signals from the electric signal generator.
