PURPOSE: A power steering system by using magneto-rheological fluid is provided to prevent the operational force of a steering wheel from being lightened in increasing speed of a vehicle during traveling. CONSTITUTION: A power steering system is composed of a cylinder(10) fitted around a steering shaft(15) to reduce movement of the steering shaft in increasing viscosity of magneto-rheological fluid by forming a magnetic field; a solenoid(9) installed at the side of the cylinder to apply the magnetic field to the magneto-rheological fluid; and a power supply circuit applying voltage to the solenoid. Load applied to the steering wheel is adjusted with regulating the viscosity of magneto-rheological fluid. Travel stability at high speed is improved by using magneto-rheological fluid.
