PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation plant and its method capable of continuing the generation even when the faucet of city water is closed. SOLUTION: This power generation plant is provided with a drive device 5 which is disposed on the midway of water stream and is driven by the water stream, a generator 9 driven by the drive device 5, a water stream generator 10 disposed on the way of a branch water stream 61 branched from the main stream, and an opening/closing valve 75 which is connected to a piping 74 linked to the outlet of the drive device 5 and performs the operations of generating and stopping the water stream. The plant is characterized by connecting the water stream generator 10 so as to enable driving of the drive device 5 thereby.
