PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid sensor and a seating detection system capable of discriminating a seated human body and a child seat, and discriminating a seating condition and the like of the seated human body. SOLUTION: A sheet-like seating sensor 6 is buried just under a surface skin 5 of a seating part 2 of a seat 1, and a proximity sensor 7 composed of a pair of electrodes 7a, 7b is buried insides of the seating part 2. The seating sensor 6 is a membrane switch formed by superposing a pair of flexible sheets through an insulating spacer, and can detect a position of a switched-on contact part. The proximity sensor 7 can detect the change of capacity between the electrodes 7a, 7b. A CPU 52 discriminates the human body and the child seat, and the presence or absence of seating, the seating condition and the like on the basis of the output data of the seating sensor 6 and the proximity sensor 7.
