PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source with long life even for high-intensity use, by reducing amount of current per unit area through drastic enlargement of surface area of a light-emitting element. SOLUTION: The light-emitting device is provided with a plurality of light- emitting elements each equipped with a pair of electrodes and a light-emitting layer located between the electrodes placed on a base material, with a light- emitting face of the light-emitting element placed to a rising direction against the base material, in which, the light emitting element is formed as a band shaped, strip shaped, cylinder shaped, columnar shaped or porous shaped. Also, the light-emitting element can be a laminated type light-emitting element with a plurality of respective light-emitting elements laminated, and the light-emitting layer of the light-emitting element is made of organic materials, which again, would preferably include a plurality of organic materials having different light- emitting colors. |
