<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber coating removal device that enables coating to be removed without scratching the surface of an optical fiber and that has such superior workability as to facilitate for example the positioning for the coating removal. SOLUTION: This is the device for removing the coating at the end of a single optical fiber 1 or a coated optical fiber by holding the coating between a pair of coat removing blades 11, 11'. The blades consist of a blade holding plate 12, a semicircular blade 13 having a semicircular gnawing edge 13a, and a flat blade 14 having a triangular cross section and a linear gnawing edge 14a, which are integrally laminated in this order on a blade-bearing plate 15, performing the removal of the coating 1b without damaging the surface of the optical fiber.</p> |
