<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of causing noise by backlash between both gears in an electric power steering for applying steering assist force to a driven gear provided at the outer periphery of a steering shaft, from a driving gear provided at a rotating shaft of a motor. SOLUTION: A hypoid pinion 16 provided at a projecting side end part 15a of a rotating shaft 15 of a motor 8 is meshed with a hypoid gear 14 rotated integrally with an output shaft 5. The projecting side end part 15a and an inner side end part 15b of the rotating shaft 15 are supported to a motor housing 17 respectively through first and second bearings 19, 20. An elastic body 32 formed of a plate spring or the like interposed between an outer ring 29 of the second bearing 20 and a cylindrical bottom part 31 of the motor housing 17 impels the rotating shaft 15 onto the axial hypoid gear 14 side.</p> |
