PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic adjusting seal of a turbine having a seal mechanism with improved sealing effect and highly precise motion. SOLUTION: The seal consists of a movable seal ring 8 set in a seal ring holder 7, a leaf seal 5 attached to the inside of the movable seal ring 8, and a rotor 1 on which the tip of the leaf seal 5 slides. When the turbine is started or stopped, the movable seal ring 8 is energized by a spring and brought into contact with a seal ring retracting face 12 without a gap D1 but with gaps D2 and D3 to maintain prescribed clearance. At the time of the rated operation, the high pressure side and the low pressure side are divided; the pressure on the high pressure side works on a steam pressure working surface 10 and the ring 8 is moved to the rotor 1 side with the gap D1 but without the gaps D2 and D3 to reduce the clearance. In this way, the clearance is adjusted. |
