PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw which can prevent the occurrence of vibration during use and on which finishing machining of a screw groove of a nut and a screw shaft is applied without using a dedicated lap tool according to a respective specification. SOLUTION: In a ball screw provided with a screw shaft 10, a nut 20, and a number of balls, a string-form elastic substance 30 having a section larger than that of the ball and abrasive grains 31 is wound in a screw groove 11 of the screw shaft 10 and by threadedly joining together the screw shaft 10 and the nut 20, the abrasive grains 31 are located between at least one of the screw shaft 10 and the nut 20 and the elastic substance 30. At least one of the screw shaft 10 and the nut 20 is caused to effect relative spiral rotation movement based on the elastic substance 30. Finishing machining is applied on a screw groove 11 or 21 of at least one of the screw shaft 10 and the nut 20 to effect the movement to constitute a ball screw. |
