PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small discharge lamp device having low withstand voltage of a cord and a connector for supplying power to a discharge lamp. SOLUTION: This discharge lamp device 10 has a capacitor 20, a switching element 21, and a boost-up coil 22 as a boost-up circuit in the former step, and a capacitor 32, a discharge switch 33, and a boost-up coil 34 as a boost-up circuit in the subsequent stage which is the final stage, and a starting circuit is constituted with both boost-up circuits. The capacitor 32, the discharge switch 33, and the boost-up coil 34 are housed in a connector part of the discharge lamp 30, integrated with a discharge lamp body 31. By switching about 3 times the switching element 21, voltage of the capacitor 32 is raised, and when reaches discharge voltage, the discharge switch 33 discharges. Current flows in a primary coil of the boost-up coil 34, and induction voltage of high voltage capable of starting lighting of the discharge lamp body 31 generates in a secondary coil of the boost-up coil 34. |
