PURPOSE: An intermediate shaft of a steering system for absorbing shock is provided to reduce processes, assembly works, and manufacturing cost by directly forming a shock-absorbing member to an upper shaft which is equipped at a combined part of lower and upper shafts of the intermediate shaft installed between a steering gear and a steering shaft without separately assembling the shock-absorbing member, and to improve productivity and safety by maximizing the efficiency of absorbing and reducing shock. CONSTITUTION: An intermediate shaft of a steering system for absorbing shock is composed of one end of a lower shaft(6) combined to a yoke of a gear(1), other end of the lower shaft combined to an upper shaft(3), a fixing pins coupled to a combined part of the upper and lower shafts to absorb and reduce shock, a plurality of bent units(4) for absorbing and reducing shock formed at a predetermined part of the upper shaft, and holes penetrating curved surfaces of the bent units.
