PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable radio unit that controls the directivity of a built-in antenna of a folding-type portable radio unit and a single-case portable radio unit, and can achieve proper antenna performances in actual usage state. SOLUTION: In a folding-type portable radio unit 1A with a built-in antenna 5A arranged in an upper case 2A, a conductor section 6a is arranged at a position opposite to the built-in antenna 5A of a lower case 3A, while the conductor section 6a is folded; thus connecting the directivity of the built-in antenna 5A in a folded state to the conductor section 6A to make it change, and improving the antenna performance, when accommodating the antenna into a breast pocket or the like.
