PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit for biochemical analysis wherein a plurality of spotlike regions containing a specifically combined substance whose base sequence, base length, composition and the like are already known are formed on the surface of a carrier at a high density, the unit for biochemical analysis obtained by selectively labeling the plurality of spotlike regions with a radioactive marker substance is brought into contact with a photostimulable phosphor layer, the photostimulable phosphor layer is exposed with the radioactive marker substance, the photostimulable phosphor layer is irradiated with excitation light, photostimulated light emitted from the photostimulable phosphor layer is detected photoelectrically, data for biochemical analysis is generated, and it is possible to prevent that a noise caused by the scattering of an electronic beam (β-rays) emitted from the radioactive marker substance is generated in the data for biochemical analysis even when a substance originated from a living body is analyzed. SOLUTION: The unit for biochemical analysis is provided with a substrate 2 which comprises a property of attenuating radiation energy and/or light energy, a plurality of adsorbent regions 4 are formed of an adsorbent material so as to be separated from each other in such a way that their surfaces are situated in the lower part of the substrate, and a plurality of tapered regions 3c are formed on the substrate toward surfaces of the adsorbent regions from the surface of the substrate.
