PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet cutting apparatus capable of cutting a coated sheet material such as photographic paper in an appropriate way preventing swelling which may result in fluffy cut surfaces and coloring. SOLUTION: The sheet cutting apparatus causes a movable blade 1 and a fixed blade 2 to intersect and press against each other to cut the sheet material S formed of a base material with a coating agent S1 applied thereto. The tip angle of the movable blade 1 making contact with the coating agent S1 is 20 to 40 degrees and the tip angle of the fixed blade 2 making contact with the base material is 45 to 90 degrees. The tip shear angleαis 1 to 3 degrees and a chamfering C of 0.02 to 0.1 mm is applied to the tip of the fixed blade.
