PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous resin composition for a coating material forming a coating film which is totally excellent in water crack resistance, water deformation resistance, water whitening resistance, weather resistance and long-term hydrophilicity in consideration of outdoor use; and a base material having a coating film formed of the aqueous resin composition for the coating material formed thereon.SOLUTION: There is provided an aqueous resin composition for a coating material, where emulsion particles are composed of a polymer obtained by polymerization of a monomer component A containing a monomer having a functional group α, a water-soluble polymer is composed of a polymer obtained by polymerization of a monomer component B containing a monomer having a functional group β capable of forming a crosslinked structure with the functional group α, a content of the monomer having the functional group α in the monomer component A is 0.1-2 mass%, and a content of the monomer having the functional group β in the monomer component B is 1-18 mass%.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
