PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste volume reduction method and an apparatus to be used for the method enabling the use of compact and low cost apparatus to propagate the volume reduction of infectious medical waste for minor hospitals. SOLUTION: This method for treating infectious medical waster is characterized by treating a mixture including infectious medical waste (A) comprising a hydrophilic resin not dissolving in water of <=50 deg.C and water (B), wherein the weight ratio (A)/(B) is 70/30 to 20/80, at a temperature of 70 to 150 deg.C to convert the infectious medical waste (A) into a solid with reduced volume. |
