PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a connecting structure between a piston and a connecting rod. SOLUTION: This air compressor 10 is provided with a cylinder 14 having a cylinder head 12, placed thereon, the piston 16 fitted to reciprocate in the cylinder 14, the connecting rod 17 connected to the piston 16, and a valve seat member 22 disposed between the cylinder head 12 and the cylinder 14 and having a suction port 18 and a discharge port 20. The piston 16 and the connecting rod 17 are rockable connected to each other by pressing a spherical fitting part 44a in a bearing 40. Thus, a spherical projecting part 44 of the connecting rod 17 is engaged with the bearing 40 of the piston 15 in an unseparable state, so that the connecting rod 17 can be rockably connected without a piston pin. The piston 16 is made of a resin, and a groove 38 is provided in the vicinity of the peripheral edge part of the top face, whereby when the pressure is increased in a compression stroke, the groove 38 is opened outward to bring the outer periphery of the peripheral edge part into close contact with the inner wall of the cylinder 14. |
