PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional link structure for lifting and lowering a mower has defects of hardly providing sufficient height to a lifted mower when a mower deck is lifted and lowered in a limited space at the lower part of the center of an undercarriage in the front and rear direction because the conventional link mechanics for lifting and lowering the mower has the structure of lifting and lowering the mower in the aslant direction. SOLUTION: This lifting and lowering apparatus is constituted so that the mower 5 can be lifted and lowered straightly in the upper and lower direction by the expansion and contraction movement of a hydraulic cylinder 37 by linking the upper parts of a right and left pair of links 31 pivotally bound at the center so as to form an X-shape in the side view to the machine body, linking the lower part to the upper part of a mower deck 25, and inserting the hydraulic cylinder 37 between upper parts of the links 31 in a mid-mount mower in which the mower 5 is mounted on a lower belly part between front wheels 2 and rear wheels 3 of a working vehicle. Lifting and lowering guides 40, 40 and 40 sliding in the vertical direction between the machine body and the mower deck 25 are installed to regulate the movement in the front and rear and right and left directions when lifting and lowering the mower 5.
