PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a spacer layer of a uniform layer thickness while preventing the intrusion of air bubbles therein without entailing a steep rise of a manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the multilayered optical recording medium by forming two recording layers laminated across the spacer layer on a base material D, in which the spacer layer between the second recording layer L1 counted from the incident direction of a laser beam and the first recording layer is formed by elastically deforming a rubber chucking 14 capable of closing a central hole 1a for mounting of the base material D by elastic deformation in at least a diametral direction to chuck the base material D and to fix the base material D formed with the recording layer L1 to a turntable 12 and dropping a coating liquid R for forming the spacer layer near the boundary of the peripheral surface of the rubber chucking 14 and the base material D, then rotating the turnable 14 by having a stamper 21 for forming the first recording layer chucked by the rubber chucking 14 while putting the stamper to cover the base material D, thereby spin coating the base material D with the coating liquid R.
