<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work retainer material having superior freedom degree in attaching/detaching, moving after the retaining, and a retainer surface shape and having antipollution performance and to improve workability and machining precision by retaining a workpiece and a tool by the retainer material. SOLUTION: This working retainer material is silicone bouncing putty causing dilatancy phenomenon. The silicone bouncing putty 1 is projectingly fixed to a worktable 5 and, when the workpiece 2 hard to be retained is pushed thereagainst, the putty is fluidized and retained. When the workpiece with its pushed thereagainst is cut by a cutter 4a of the tool 4, the silicone bouncing putty 1 is turned into a hardened rubber state to the cutting operation. The silicone putty is provided with both of the liquid-phase and the solid-phase states so as to stably retain the workpiece at a superior freedom degree. It is beautifully released from the workpiece 2 just like a hardened silicone rubber. The deformation characteristics and adhesion characteristics of the putty are multifunctionally and efficiently used for various kinds of retainer tools such as a worktable, a surface plate, a retainer stand, a ruler, and gloves and chattering prevention.</p> |
