PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which an electrostatic latent image can be formed more stably by suppressing adhesion of foreign matters to the writing electrode of an image carrier. SOLUTION: A writing electrode 3a2 touches the rear surface of an image carrier 2 and a counter electrode 3b comprising a conductive rotary member touches the surface of the image carrier 2 while facing the writing electrode 3a2 . When back face writing of an image is performed on the rear surface of the image carrier 2 by means of the writing electrode 3a2 , an electrostatic latent image is formed on the surface of the image carrier 2 by means of the counter electrode 3b. Since the writing electrode 3a2 does not touch the surface of the image carrier, foreign matters on the surface of the image carrier do not adhere to the writing electrode 3a2 . Since foreign matters, e.g. residual developer, adhering to the latent image forming face of the image carrier 2 are removed because the conductive rotary member has a cleaning function, variation in the resistance on the latent image forming face of the image carrier 2 is suppressed and an electrostatic latent image is formed more stably. |
