PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device of a vehicle capable of securing a specified play area at both right and left sides for operating an operating member when the vehicle runs in the state of holding a specified steering angle in a vehicle allowing the ratio of the amount of operation of the operating member to the amount of steering of wheels to be changed. SOLUTION: When a detected operation amount from the reference position of the operating member H exceeds a set value, an electric actuator 39 is controlled according to a variable indicating running state when the movement of the electric actuator 39 is transmitted to the wheels so that the steer angle can be varied to change the ratio of the amount of operation of the operating member H to the amount of steering of the wheels according to the variables thereof. When the detected operation amount from the reference position is equal to or less than the set value, the electric actuator 39 is controlled so that the amount of steering of the wheels cannot be varied. When the steering state is not stationary over the set time or longer, the neutral position of the operating member H is taken as a reference position. When the steering state is stationary over the set time or longer, the center position of the operating member H in the operating range in the stationary steering state over the set time or longer is taken as a reference position. |
