PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for stably processing the shape of a cellulose fiber product, the apparatus being easily applicable to a small lot production and producible at a low cost, and to provide a method for stably processing the shape by using the apparatus. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a fluid-type treating machine 1, an ammonia gas supplying means 2 with which ammonia gas or a mixed gas of ammonia gas and an inert gas is supplied to the fluid-type treating machine 1, and an inert gas supplying means 3. The treatment is carried out by bringing a cellulose fiber product such as a cloth into contact with ammonia or a mixed gas of ammonia gas and an inert gas by the fluid-type treating machine 1.
