PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite of semiconductor quantum dots (QD) encapsulated in a polymer matrix to protect them from adverse effects of water and oxygen, which is not susceptible to photo-oxidation during a light absorption/conversion process and is useful in many applications, including display, lighting and medical applications.SOLUTION: A polymer composite comprises quantum dots and polymerized units of at least one compound represented by formula (I), where Ris H or methyl and Ris a C-Caliphatic polycyclic substituent and preferably a C-Ccrosslinked polycyclic substituent.
