PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a pneumatic fender which enables manufacture of the pneumatic fender being longer than a molding drum by using a conventional molding drum. SOLUTION: Rubber sheet materials and reinforcing layers of an outer layer rubber 2, a fibrous reinforcing layer 3, an inner layer rubber 4, etc., are stuck together sequentially on the molding drum 1 in a cantilever state, and a mirror 5 on one side of the main body of the fender and a direct body 6 extending to about a half of the length of the direct body of the fender are molded. The terminal 6a of the direct body 6 being turned over to a prescribed length, the inner layer rubber 4, the fibrous reinforcing layer 3 and the outer layer rubber 2 are connected to the terminal 6a, and a remaining direct body 6x are molded. Then, the mirror 5a on the other side of the main body of the fender is molded and an unvulcanized molded article thus obtained is removed from the molding drum 1. This molded article is set thereafter in a vulcanizing mold M similar to a conventional one and vulcanized under the internal pressure by injecting a fluid W into the nuvulcanized molded article T. After vulcanization molding is completed, the article is removed from the mold M. Thus, the pneumatic type fender about twice as long as the molding drum 1 can be manufactured. |
