PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the detection accuracy of a turbidity detecting apparatus for forming a radiant light beam by once condensing a light beam from a coherent light source into a specific focus, passing a liquid to be inspected through the light beam in the vicinity of the focus, detecting changes of diffracted light generated in the light beam due to the presence of particles in the liquid to be inspected by an optical detector arranged in the optical path of the light beam on the side opposite to the light source with respect to a fluid, converting the changes into electric signals, and detecting the particles contained in the liquid to be inspected on the basis of changes of the electric signals. SOLUTION: The apparatus for detecting particulates in the fluid is provided with a plurality of detecting systems including both the light source of the light beam. Comprising a light generating source and an optical system, and a light receiving element array for receiving the light beam after its passage through the liquid to be inspected. The plurality of detecting systems may be arranged along a channel of the liquid to be inspected or may be arranged in the circumference of the channel of the liquid to be inspected at different angles. By integrating the results of measurements by the plurality of detecting systems, it is possible to perform accurate detection.
