摘要 FIELD: nondestructive quality inspection of articles, flaw detection in cables made of steel ferromagnetic wire. SUBSTANCE: method includes longitudinal magnetization of section of tested object to state close to saturation and measurement of parameter of magnetic field near surface of object between poles of magnetization unit. Mentioned-above measurement is carried out at least in one pair of points lying on line parallel to axis of object. Facility for realization of method has magnetization unit in the form of magnetic circuit with magnetic poles facing channel for passage of object, measurement unit in the form of magnetic circuit located between poles of magnetization unit and magnetosensitive transducers. Magnetic circuit of measurement unit incorporates three elements placed along axis of object, two extreme elements are identical and are positioned in symmetry and with gap relative to center element. Magnetosensitive transducers are installed in pairs on line parallel to axis of channel for passage of object in gaps between center and extreme elements of magnetic circuit.
