SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method vertical linear acceleration of wheel axles are measured which arise when out wheel rolls over rail, array of said accelerations is remembered, dispersion for each ith position of wheel is calculated and geometrical image of wheel rolling surface is found using preset functional dependence. Device contains wheel turning angle pickup, pickup of linear accelerations on wheel axle- box and series-connected multiplier, comparator and acceleration dispersion calculator.
