PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waist size adjusting appliance which can finely adjust a waist size and which is durable and inexpensive. SOLUTION: The waist size adjusting appliance consists of a male hook body (1) fitted to one end of the open end of pants (p), etc., and a receiving body (2) fitted to the other end of the open end and engaged with the male hook body (1) detachably. The male hook body (1) consists of a slide guide member (10) forming a groove (100) in a longitudinal direction and a side hook member (11) forming a claw hook part (110) which is an engaging means with the receiving body (2). The slide guide member (10) has engagement protrusions (101) lined up at prescribed intervals at the bottom of the groove (100). The slide hook member (11) has an engaging claw (111) which is slid in the groove (100) and which can be engaged with the engagement protrusions (101).
