PURPOSE: A method for heating operation of an air conditioner is provided to improve heating efficiency by sensing temperature of refrigerant pipes of an outdoor heat exchanger and an indoor heat exchanger, and determining on/off of an outdoor fan depending on an indoor fan whose rotating mode is changed based on temperature of the refrigerant pipe of the indoor heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of: an indoor temperature sensing step(S11)sensing temperature of a refrigerant pipe of an indoor heat exchanger; a high speed rotation mode switching step(S12,S13) switching an indoor fan forcibly blowing air to the indoor heat exchanger from a mode that a user initially sets to a high speed rotation mode when temperature sensed in the indoor temperature sensing step is higher than a first set value; an outdoor temperature sensing step(S15) sensing temperature of a refrigerant pipe of an outdoor heat exchanger on the high speed rotation mode switching step; and an outdoor fan turning off step(S17,S18) turning off an outdoor fan forcibly blowing air to the outdoor heat exchanger when temperature sensed in the outdoor temperature sensing step is higher than a second set value.
