PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, ink units, an information storable device, and a computer system, capable of making communication with the device provided on the ink unit without trouble. SOLUTION: This printer comprises the plurality of ink units each having the device capable of storing information, an ink unit support member having the plurality of ink units arranged thereon, and a reading member for reading the information stored in the devices in a non-contact manner. The reading member reads ID information stored in the device provided to the ink unit by each ink unit and a relationship between the arrangement order of the ink units in the ink unit support member and the ID information stored in the device is determined.
