PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image signal processor that can effectively correct a defective pixel with respect to conversion of a read direction of a signal from a solid-state imaging device. SOLUTION: A CMOS image sensor 200 outputs an image signal vertically inverted or horizontally inverted in response to an operation instruction of a user. A defect correction circuit 110 uses defect information (a defective position and a defective level) stored in a defect information storage RAM 120 to particularize a defective pixel in the image signal thereby correcting the defective pixel. A microcomputer 140 discriminates the presence/absence of vertical inversion or horizontal inversion in the CMOS image sensor 200 by its function and converts an address of the defective information in the defective information storage RAM 120 depending on the result of discrimination. Thus, the image signal processor performs processing of making an address of the defect information in matching with the image signal without changing the data sequence of the image signal read from the CMOS image sensor 200 so as to smoothly correct the defect.
