PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of an ink ribbon by a heater for residually heating the ribbon and to eliminate consideration into a rise time of the heater for residual heating of the ribbon. SOLUTION: When residual heating is not carried out, a solenoid 46 of the heater 40 for residually heating the ink ribbon 23 is turned off and moved to a retreat position where the heater is isolated from the ink ribbon 23 by the action of a spring 43.
