PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a data projector device more small-sized, lightweight, and low-cost by greatly simplifying basic constitution and to reduce the influence of a light source on visual sensation. SOLUTION: An image projection display device which modulates illumination light emitted by a light source part to project video data is characterized by that the light source part (block image light emission unit 104) comprises an image block light source (high-luminance light emitting diode 109) constituted by arranging a plurality of light source parts in two dimensions to enable modulated light emission corresponding to the pixel array and gradations of an arbitrary local image of a projection image and is equipped with a two-dimensional scanning part (horizontal scanning mirror 106 and vertical scanning mirror 107) which can make a scan so that an image block light emission image moves on a projection surface in two dimensions within a specified range at a specified scanning frequency to draw the whole projection image.
