PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To devise the joining face of an optical element so as to obtain high positioning accuracy of the optical elements to be joined and to stacking the elements into layers a low cost to integrate when a plastic optical element is constituted by joining and integrating optical elements made of plastics. SOLUTION: The plastic optical element is obtained by stacking in layers, joining and integrating a plurality of plastic optical elements. The face of the plastic optical element including one or both of joining faces is provided with a recess caused by not transferring from the mold wall to mold the face and with at least one step face (protruding face). Since the step face (protruding face) has the shape accuracy without causing a recess (sink), the positioning accuracy of the optical element is improved by using the step face as an accepting face during joining.
