<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge control agent which is good in heat resistance and affinity and dispersibility to a resin, is high in a rising speed of electrostatic charge, is excellent in environmental resistance and preservable stability and is usable for various chromatic and achromic colors. <P>SOLUTION: The charge control agent containing the crystalline 3, 5-di-tert- zincbutylsalicylate which is expressed by formula (1) and has the main peaks of X-ray diffraction by CuKαcharacteristic X-rays at 5.7±0.2°, 6.4±0.2°, 6.7±0.2°and 15.4±0.2°at least at a Bragg angle 2θ.
