PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectro-phoresis filtering apparatus which separates suspended particulates selectively with high separation efficiency, is hard to initiate clogging and is easy to collect with high practicality, and a suspended particulates removing method by dielectro-phoresis. SOLUTION: The dielectro-phoresis filtering apparatus and the suspended particulates removing method by dielectro-phoresis are provided with a plurality of dielectric particles 1C which are filled between electrodes 1A and 1B and concentrates or reduces locally an electric field which is formed between the electrodes 1A and 1B, and a power source part 5 which applies an alternating voltage of a frequency which can induce the dielectro-phoresis to the suspended particulates between the electrodes 1A and 1B. The dielectric particles 1C are made to contact with or approach to other dielectric particles 1C at a side position where an ambient electric field intensity becomes maximum or minimum. The suspended particles are collected and captured by dielectro-phoresis into a specific part of the electric field which is formed near the side position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
