FIELD: metallurgical industry branches, namely systems and procedures for working materials without removing it by reducing cross section. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of determining volumes of material passing over time unit through points mutually spaced by predetermined interval in system; controlling according to predetermined volumes revolution number of controlled drum. System for continuous plastic working of material by reducing its cross section includes first and second equipment units designed for reducing cross section; first and second drawing drums. First drawing drum is arranged behind first unit for reducing cross section. Second drawing drum is arranged behind second unit for reducing cross section of material and behind first drum. System is provided with two measuring apparatuses. Said apparatuses are designed for determining volumes for time unit in front and after drum whose revolution number is controlled.
