PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a cycle time to improve productivity by shortening the time required for raising a presser-foot after a yarn cutting action at the time of completion of sewing in a sewing machine. SOLUTION: The sewing machine has the yarn cutting cam section 63 converting the rotary drive force of a pulse motor 60 into the drive force responding to a yarn cutting mechanism 40, a pressing yarn cutting cam member 62 having a pressing cam section 64 converting the rotary drive force into the drive force responding to a pushing up mechanism 10, a yarn cutting ring 41 sliding in the cam groove 63a of the yarn cutting cam section 63 to transmit the above drive force to the yarn cutting mechanism 40, and a pushing up ring 11 sliding on the cam surface 64a of the pressing cam section 64 to transmit the above drive force to the pushing up mechanism 10. The pressing yarn cutting cam member 62, the yarn cutting ring 41, and the pushing up ring 11 are constructed to have a free running leg with which the drive force is not transmitted to both the mechanisms 10, 40 even when the pulse motor 60 drives the pressing yarn cutting cam member 62 from the time of the completion of yarn cutting to the time of the beginning of the rising of presser-foot.
