PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of reliably providing a player with information on the remainder of credit even when the player concentrates his/her attention to the display area of a pattern. SOLUTION: A slot machine as a game machine is provided with a credit function for storing and managing the number of player's game mediums (medals) which the slot machine keeps for the player. By depressing a max bet button in advance of the start of a game, a maximum betting number (three) of the game medium can be bet. When the credit remainder of the game mediums is smaller than this maximum betting number (three) when operating this max bet button, the illuminating state of a back light source for adjusting the brightness of the display area of a pattern is switched to a partial illumination pattern.
