PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for properly performing white balance correction even when a light source of a different kind exists in the case of creating a print from a received image. SOLUTION: The white balance correction method of this invention is characterized in that a color temperature of a photographing light source in the case of imaging the color image is estimated by using color information of gray and/or skin colors included in the received color image and the image signal of the color image is corrected by using the estimated color temperature. Contriving the method for optimizing coefficients multiplied with the image signal can properly correct the white balance by detecting a light source deviated from a locus of a black body such as a fluorescent light.
