PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent recording papers from moving by a backlash of a reduction gear at cutting. SOLUTION: A color thermal recording paper 2 is held between a cutter roller pair 41 and a paper discharge roller pair 56 and transferred towards a cutter 47 by the forward rotation of a stepping motor 45. When a cutting position of the color thermal recording paper 2 reaches the cutter 47, the rotation of the stepping motor 45 is stopped. Next, the stepping motor 45 is reversed by a predetermined amount such that the paper discharge roller pair 56 does not rotate, thereby solving the backlash of the reduction gear 58. The reverse rotation of the stepping motor 45 is not transmitted to the cutter roller pair 41 by a one-way clutch 42. The stepping motor 45 is stopped again after the backlash is solved, and the cutter 47 is activated to cut a margin of the color thermal recording paper 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
