摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chamfering method and a chamfering device for an information recording medium glass substrate possible to improve circularity of a chamfering part of the glass substrate. SOLUTION: This chamfering device is provided with a rotary support shaft 18 formed with a position adjusting projection 19 and a fixing recessed part 20 in a lower end surface thereof and a rotary grinding wheel 22 formed with a first and a second adjusting holes 23 and 24 and also formed with a fitting adjustment recessed part 25 in a lower end surface thereof. The rotary grinding wheel 22 is fixed to the rotary support shaft 18 by inserting the position adjusting projection 19 into the first position adjustment hole 23 and inserting a bolt 28 into the second position adjustment hole 24 and screwing the bolt 28 to the fixing recessed part 20. The peripheral surface of the rotary grinding wheel 22 is pushed to the inner peripheral end surface or the outer peripheral end surface of the glass substrate to chamfer both the inner and the outer peripheral end surfaces of the glass substrate. A value to be obtained by dividing the number of revolution of the rotary grinding wheel 22 with the number of revolution of the glass substrate is set to contain a decimal value.
